SHAH ALAM - The Alor Setar City Council has announced that it will stop issuing licences for massage parlours within the city in an effort to curb immoral activities.
The decision was announced on the council's Facebook page and was in line with the Kedah state government's decision on June 21.
On June 21, Kedah Menteri Besar Muhammad Sanusi Md Nor said that the state government was considering not renewing the licenses of massage parlours, adding that "immoral activities" were taking place in such outlets.
"We will only approve reflexology outlets which meet certain conditions.
"If the license is for a reflexology centre, better be sure it is just for your legs, not to massage something else," Sanusi was quoted as saying by Sinar.
