SHAH ALAM - The issue of alleged bullying at the Royal Military College (RMC) is currently being addressed by the relevant authorities.

Old Putera Association secretary Khairul Ridzwan Ibrahim said the association has been actively engaging with the RMC Commandant, the Parent-Teacher Association and other stakeholders to fully understand the situation.

"Any necessary actions regarding this issue will be taken to safeguard the reputation of the school and its community.

"The association does not condone any individual actions, including those by members, that involve sharing incomplete or inaccurate information with external parties without proper verification.

"We urge everyone to handle this matter with caution, mutual respect and responsibility while supporting efforts to uphold the honour of our school," he said in a statement on Tuesday.

Previously, former students and parents told Sinar that they had experienced bullying and excessive punishments at the hands of Form Five seniors.

Khairul said the association remained actively involved in monitoring the situation and supporting management in addressing the issue.

"We also regret the allegations made on social media and their impact on the morale of the Putera and our community. We urge all members to exercise caution when using social media to discuss this matter.

"RMC, as the directly involved institution, must be given the space and support to address the issue fairly and responsibly," he said.

He added that the association upheld a zero-tolerance policy towards bullying and misconduct, in addition to supporting the creation of a safe, respectful and conducive environment for the Putera.

"We appreciate the understanding and cooperation of all parties in addressing this matter with care, professionalism and commitment to the values that define RMC and the association," he said.
