Beloved TTDI coffee spot Quartet to bid farewell after 11 years in February
In a post on its Instagram account @quartetttdi, it said after careful thought and consideration, it made the difficult decision not to renew its tenancy.
SHAH ALAM - After more than a decade of serving as a beloved gathering spot, Quartet will soon close its doors for good.
The café which began operating in Taman Tun Dr Ismail, Kuala Lumpur since 2013 has announced its closure, marking the end of an era for its loyal customers.
In a post on its Instagram account @quartetttdi, it said after careful thought and consideration, it made the difficult decision not to renew its tenancy.
"Our doors will officially close on Feb 20, 2025. The past 11 years have been nothing short of incredible.
"Your unwavering support, the moments we’ve shared and the countless cups of coffee enjoyed together have made it truly unforgettable. We are deeply grateful to each and every one of you, our cherished customers, neighbours and friends for being an integral part of this incredible chapter in our lives.
"If you’ve ever enjoyed our coffee, found comfort in our space, or simply felt at home in the vibe we created together, we warmly invite you to drop by and say goodbye. Your presence during these final weeks would mean the world to us," it wrote in the caption.
As it prepares to bid farewell, the café announced that it will be selling most of its equipment and invited interested buyers to contact them via direct message, with further details to be shared in a separate post soon.
It expressed gratitude to its community for the support and opportunity to serve them over the past 11 years.
"While we will miss being here, the memories and friendships we’ve made will stay with us for a lifetime," it wrote.
The café's social media post received numerous comments from loyal customers, including @am.iu, who shared that he has been part of Quartet's journey since it started operating in 2013 saying that it has been more than just a coffee shop to him and more like a second home.
"This news comes with a heavy heart... The atmosphere you created was unmatched, a space that brought people together over countless conversations and unforgettable coffee," he said in the comment section.
Another customer @iamdiandra commented: "Hello, where am I going to buy my coffee right now at 8am?"
Meanwhile, @g.i.s.10.2e said: "Going to miss my favourite Aglio Olio ever. Please, I need the recipe."
In its final weeks, Quartet will maintain operating hours from 8am to 5pm daily, except on Wednesdays.
