The rumours are true, Zendaya and Tom Holland are engaged
Wedding bells are ringing for Spider-Man and MJ!
Roses are red, violets are blue, looks like the engagement rumours are true!
At the 82nd Golden Globe Awards, actress Zendaya strut down the red carpet donning a beautiful Louis Vuitton ball gown but what stood out from her entire outfit for the night was a sparkly 5 carat cushion-cut centre stone on her ring finger.
Zendaya, who has been in a four-year relationship with Spider-Man star Tom Holland, played it coy when asked by a reporter about the swirling engagement rumours but based on reports, a source close to the couple confirmed that Holland popped the question amid the holidays.
In a recent podcast interview, Holland spoke about starting a family. He said: When I have kids, you will not see me in movies anymore.
He added that all he will be doing is go golfing and be a dad. “Golf and dad. And I will just disappear off the face of the earth,” he said.
In the same interview, upon being asked why he does not walk on red carpets with Zendaya, he added: “Because it’s not my moment, it’s her moment, and if we go together, it’s about us.”
The pair met in 2016, when they were cast as Peter Parker and MJ in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming but only confirmed their relationship in 2021 after years of rumours and speculation.
Tom Holland, the eldest of four brothers and the son of a photographer and a comedian-author duo, was born in England.
His journey into stardom began with hip-hop classes during his childhood, leading to a role in a West End production that propelled him into the spotlight.
Since then, Holland has become a household name especially after landing the role of Peter Parker.
On the other hand, Zendaya, whose name means "to give thanks" in the Shona language, was born in the United States.
Her career took off as a child model and backup dancer, eventually landing her the role of Rocky Blue in Disney's Shake It Up, cementing her status as a Disney star.
Over the years, Zendaya has seamlessly transitioned into more diverse roles, including her critically acclaimed portrayal of Rue Bennett in HBO's Euphoria, a performance that earned her an Emmy Award and solidified her reputation as a powerhouse in Hollywood.
