THE 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony, held on Jan 5, 2025, showcased an evening of celebration, recognising outstanding achievements in both film and television.

The ceremony, which took place at the Beverly Hilton in Beverly Hills, California, saw a number of awards presented to an eclectic mix of talent across various categories.

A total of over thirty winners were announced, spanning both creative mediums, acknowledging performances, productions, and innovations in the entertainment industry.

In the realm of film, the Best Motion Picture – Drama award was claimed by The Brutalist, while Emilia Pérez took home the prize for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy.

Among the acting accolades, Adrien Brody was awarded Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Drama for his performance in The Brutalist, while Fernanda Torres won Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama for I’m Still Here.

In the Best Actor in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category, Sebastian Stan emerged victorious for his role in A Different Man, while Demi Moore was honored as Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy for The Substance.

The television categories saw equally exciting wins, with Shōgun securing the title of Best Television Series – Drama, and Hacks being named Best Television Series – Musical or Comedy. The acting categories in television highlighted standout performances, such as Anna Sawai winning Best Actress in a Television Series – Drama for Shōgun, and Jeremy Allen White taking home Best Actor in a Television Series – Musical or Comedy for The Bear.

Other notable awards included Best Film – Animated, which was awarded to Flow, while Wicked claimed the Cinematic and Box Office Achievement award. In terms of songwriting, El Mal from Emilia Pérez earned the Best Original Song award, and the Best Original Score was awarded to Challengers. Best Director in Film went to Brady Corbet for The Brutalist, and the Best Screenplay – Film was won by Peter Straughan for Conclave.

The Golden Globes 2025 also celebrated the best in television limited series, with Baby Reindeer taking home the Best Television Limited Series, Anthology Series, or Television Film award. Jodie Foster earned Best Female Actor in a Television Limited Series for her performance in True Detective: Night Country, while Colin Farrell claimed Best Male Actor in a Television Limited Series for The Penguin.
