'Who are you to criticise Umno?' Akmal slams Guan Eng
Akmal said the gathering planned for Jan 6 had no connection with the unity government.
SHAH ALAM - Umno Youth chief questions DAP Chairman Lim Guan Eng’s criticism of the party for standing in solidarity with Pas in support of former Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak.
Datuk Dr Muhammad Akmal Saleh said that the gathering planned for Jan 6 had no connection with the unity government.
"This gathering is solely for Najib Razak’s solidarity. It’s not like the Bersih rallies you organised, which caused chaos and overturned cars.
"I also want to tell Lim Guan Eng: who are you to criticise Umno? Who are you to direct Umno?
"The more you criticise Umno, I promise... the more people will join the gathering on Jan 6,” he said in a video posted on Facebook on Tuesday.
Earlier, Lim reminded Umno that any collaboration with the opposition party Pas could raise doubts about political stability and Umno’s position in the unity government.
He said that this includes solidarity gatherings or demonstrations.
Lim added the party led by Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi must realise that any joint programmes with the opposition would cast doubt on political stability and Umno’s standing in the unity government.
