SHAH ALAM – The wife of a celebrity recently arrested on drug offences has made serious allegations against the police, claiming that she was pressured to change her statement during the investigation.

During a live Instagram session on Thursday night, she disclosed the incident stating her belief that the authorities’ actions were inappropriate.

"After my husband was arrested, my child and I were called in to provide statements about the discovery of the 'illegal substance.' I told the truth about what happened.

"But the next day, I was summoned again and instructed to change my statement. I will not disclose the name of the policeman involved," she said.

It was reported that police detained a male celebrity at his Cyberjaya residence last Saturday on suspicion of marijuana possession.

Sepang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Norhizam Bahaman confirmed that the celebrity was brought to the Teluk Datok Magistrate's Court in Banting for a remand order under Section 39A(2) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.

The celebrity is remanded until Dec 19 and is expected to face charges in the Sepang Sessions Court on Dec 20.

The woman revealed that when initially asked to change her statement, she complied, believing it was in her husband’s best interest.

However, upon reflection, she felt the action was inappropriate.

"The policeman told me to amend my statement, even though my original account was straightforward. At the time, I thought it might help my husband, so I followed the advice.

"Looking back, I realise it shouldn’t have happened. Everyone watching this live session will understand that," she said.

She also alleged that during the police inspection of their home, she and her husband were not given adequate time to change their clothes before allowing entry.

"The initial inspection found nothing. The officers later conducted a second search, focusing on the storage area, where they found the prohibited item.

"At that time, my husband and I were in the living room, unaware of what was happening in the storage area," she added.

The woman emphasised that her disclosure aimed to clarify misconceptions about the case.

"I want to make it clear that the situation isn’t as perceived. I hope the public will pray for my husband to receive justice in court," she said.

She further expressed her determination to support her husband and called the case unfair.

"This situation shouldn’t have happened. It feels unjust. I will fight for him because I know who he is. I hope for good news tomorrow for our family. I will stay strong, and I know he will too," she concluded.

Sinar will seek clarification from the authorities regarding the allegations.
