Vivy Yusof goes private on social media, announces 'un-influencing' era
She described this next chapter as a "private era".
Malaysian influencer and entrepreneur Datin Vivy Yusof has announced that she will be stepping back from the public eye and will be “un-influencing” for a while.
In a recent post on her official Instagram account, Vivy, whose full name is Vivy Sofinas Yusof, shared her decision to enter a new phase of her life.
The FashionValet Sdn Bhd (FashionValet) founder described this next chapter as a “private era,” marking a significant shift after years of living in the public spotlight.
“This "influencer" will be un-influencing. So it's just gonna be you and me for a while. And 1.8 million others... But that's it for now.
“Embracing my new private era,” she captioned in her post.
She revealed that, on her recent birthday, she made her Instagram account private—something she never thought she would do. Vivy wrote that it was time to live her life differently and close the door on sharing every detail of her personal life with the world.
Reflecting on her journey, Vivy shared how nearly two decades ago, she began blogging on Proudduck, an experience that opened countless doors of opportunity.
“It led me to create brands with amazing teams, and gather a community who watched me grow up from a uni student to a wife to a mother to an entrepreneur full of ups and downs,” she added.
In her heartfelt message, she also expressed gratitude for her blog, Proudduck, acknowledging its significant role in her journey and stating that it will always be a part of her.
Over the years, Vivy acknowledged that she had shared, and at times overshared, aspects of her life online. Despite the ups and downs, she expressed no regrets, as her online presence brought blessings (rezeki) to her family and others.
She emphasised that it was the path chosen for her, and she is grateful for it.
Previously, Vivy and her husband, Datuk Fadzaruddin Shah Anuar (Fadza), found themselves in hot water and have been under scrutiny having faced legal troubles. The couple has been charged with criminal breach of trust (CBT) involving RM8 million.
The allegations stem from investment losses incurred by Khazanah Nasional Berhad (Khazanah) and Permodalan Nasional Berhad (PNB), which together invested approximately RM43.9 million in their e-commerce platform, FashionValet.
While authorities scrutinised the company's financial records, Vivy also faced a barrage of online criticism, with netizens taking aim at her perceived extravagant spending and lavish lifestyle.
Both Vivy and Fadza have pleaded not guilty to the charges, which were read in the Sessions Court before Judge Rosli Ahmad.
