Shake Shack opens new outlet at Sunway Pyramid
Check out the exciting new menu!
Watching people eat in movies feels like the ultimate tease - you’re stuck wondering how it would taste in real life.
I still remember watching Something Borrowed back in 2011, when co-stars Ginnifer Goodwin and John Krasinski devoured some Shake Shack burgers in a few unforgettable scenes.
They made it look like it was the ultimate treat, but to experience that bite for myself at the time, I’d have to travel 19 hours to New York City.
For years, I wondered what the Cheese Fries and Angus beef cheeseburger would taste like.
I wasn’t the only one intrigued by the American burger chain. At the time, across its 34 locations in the US, long lines stretching around the block were a common sight.
In 2014, it was reported that the brand had already been expanding internationally. Finally in 2024, it landed on Malaysian shores with the first store being in the prestigious TRX mall.
The idea of heading to the city centre for a Shake Shack fix might be a bit of a drag for Selangor folks.
But with its upcoming opening at Sunway Pyramid on Dec 19, fulfilling the cravings is now just a shorter trip away.
The Sunway Pyramid location brings a lively vibe and welcoming atmosphere, perfect for families, students and foodies alike.
With stunning glass ceiling windows letting in plenty of natural light, the space feels bright and airy.
Plus, it’s adorned with a vibrant mural by renowned Malaysian artist Jaemy C, celebrating local culture and community spirit.
NEW MENU
To wrap up the year, Shake Shack has introduced its Avocado menu. Finally, I got to live my Shake Shack dream.
The Avocado menu presents the exclusive Avocado Burger in two meat options; chicken and beef. Basically, these are classic burgers with an avo twist.
For the beef option, the burger is basically the Angus cheeseburger topped with freshly sliced avocado, applewood-smoked streaky beef and its signature ShackSauce, all served in a pillowy potato bun.
I understand the hype around the cheeseburger. The patty, while not too thick or thin makes a good pair to the applewood-smoked streaky beef which elevates the flavour.
The Avocado Chicken on the other hand, features a crispy on the outside but tender on the inside chicken, paired with avocado, applewood-smoked streaky beef, crisp lettuce, tangy pickles and a rich buttermilk herb mayo.
While this let out a flavour bomb, I prefer the beef patty. If you’re looking for a fresh twist on a classic, these burgers should be on your food bucketlist.
Meanwhile, Shake Shack’s cheese fries are the ultimate snack. While it’s nothing too outstanding, the creamy melty cheese that clings to the fries in the right amount will have you reach for more.
Of course in true Malaysian style, you can spice it up with some chili sauce.
SWEET TREATS
Having indulged in a hearty meal so far, might as well wrap it up with some sweet treats. Shake Shack at Sunway Pyramid offers exclusive frozen custard flavours such as the Chocolate Concierge topped with chocolate chunks, brownie bites and Shack fudge sauce.
Cleopatra’s Dream is a vanilla frozen custard blended with pistachio sauce, topped with matcha cookie and crispy crepes.
Meanwhile the Golden Rule is also a vanilla frozen custard blended with passion fruit and mango, topped with caramel cookies and golden sprinkles.
Celebrate Shake Shack's grand opening at Sunway Pyramid this Dec 19 in style! The first 100 guests in the queue will receive a free Avocado Burger with any purchase, along with a Shack Exclusive Tote Bag, while stock lasts.
