LANGKAWI - Visitors to Langkawi should not miss the colourful lights at Dream Forest Langkawi, located in Lubuk Semilang.
Inspired by the Na'vi village from Avatar, this magical forest at the foot of Gunung Raya, developed by Enfiniti (M) Sdn Bhd, is only open at night.
Visitors enter a fantasy-like world, exploring natural beauty with eco-friendly lighting, beginning with a giant book and attractions such as Tree Village and the Legend of Dayang Bunting Lake.
Head of Marketing and Public Relations, Ann Nurbaya Hassan said that the forest was conceptualised by creative artist Puan Sri Tiara Jacquelina.
Dream Forest Langkawi is Malaysia’s first night-time theme park, featuring a prehistoric forest landscape dating back hundreds of millions of years.
“Visitors can explore a 1.2-kilometre path in the forest, with each area offering strategic photo spots and unique storytelling through Where Legends Come to Life.
“We bring Langkawi’s legendary characters to life, such as the Dayang Bunting Lake, Merong Mahawangsa, and the Langkawi Giant,” she told Sinar.
Ann said the theme park provided an extraordinary experience using multi-sensory technology, projection mapping, advanced lighting and immersive soundscapes.
“Throughout our first year of operation, we have continuously added attractions to offer the best to visitors,” she said.
Tickets, she said were priced at RM68 for adults, RM48 for children and RM28 for senior citizens.
“However, we frequently hold promotions to attract visitors to experience the unique legends at Dream Forest Langkawi.
“Our goal is to educate the younger generation about Langkawi’s legends using the wonders of technology to captivate their interest,” she said.
According to Ann, special prices are also offered to Langkawi residents: RM38 for adults, RM28 for children, and RM28 for senior citizens.
Meanwhile, Dream Forest Langkawi’s General Manager Razak Nayan said that the theme park, which operates only at night has become the island’s latest tourist attraction.
DAZZLING LIGHTS
Razak said that they have received a lot of positive feedback from visitors, including international tourists, who were mesmerised by the lights while walking through Dream Forest Langkawi.
He said that to date, 120,000 tourists have visited the theme park since it opened in May 2023.
“We expect the number of visitors to reach 200,000 by the end of this year. In fact, we are also targeting a two-fold increase in visitors next year with the organisation of Visit Kedah Year 2025 (TMK2025),” he added.
The theme park is open daily from 7pm to 12am except on Wednesdays.
