KOTA BHARU – A driving institute has gone viral after organising a graduation ceremony for its students.

The students were seen wearing blue and black convocation robes while holding plaques inscribed with their achievement of passing the Road Transport Department (RTD) driving test.

The Managing Director of the driving academy Mohamad Suhairy Halim said that the viral video was from the 20th graduation ceremony held earlier this year to celebrate students who successfully obtained their driving licenses at the academy.

He said that the idea for the graduation ceremony began in January and to date, about 5,000 license holders have ‘graduated’ from the academy.

"We specially designed graduation robes for students who passed the driving test with RTD," he said.

He added that the convocation provides a unique experience for the students and includes participation from their families and parents.

Suhairy added that the driving institute aimed to create memorable moments for 60 per cent of the 170 students in each intake, including those enrolled in the Class B License Transition Programme.

"We have received a lot of positive feedback from the public regarding this unique initiative," he said.
