F1 champion Max Verstappen to become a father

'Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle'

ABU DHABI - Formula One world champion Max Verstappen is set to become a father for the first time as he said on Friday that his partner, Kelly Piquet, is pregnant, reported German Press Agency (dpa).

"Mini Verstappen-Piquet on the way. We couldn’t be happier with our little miracle," Verstappen said on Instagram.

Piquet is the daughter of former Brazilian F1 driver Nelson Piquet. She and Verstappen have been a couple since 2020, and she has a daughter from a previous relationship with former Russian f1 driver Daniil Kvyat.

Verstappen's announcement came at the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The Dutch Red Bull driver clinched a fourth straight world title two weeks ago in Las Vegas. - BERNAMA-dpa
