Palestinian Journalist Syndicate launches #WomenJournalistsWartime campaign
The campaign, which aligns with the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, aims to raise awareness about the violence faced by Palestinian women, particularly female journalists, under Israeli military occupation.
GAZA - The Palestinian Journalist Syndicate has announced the launch of a social media campaign Thursday under the hashtag #WomenJournalistsWartime, the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA) reported.
The campaign, which aligns with the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, aims to raise awareness about the violence faced by Palestinian women, particularly female journalists, under Israeli military occupation.
In a statement issued by the syndicate, it called on journalists, women’s rights organisations, and human rights groups to participate in the campaign by using the hashtag #WomenJournalistsWartime across various social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter (now known as X), Instagram, Telegram, and TikTok.
The campaign officially kick-started at 12.00pm local time.
The syndicate emphasised that the campaign is intended to highlight the violence that Palestinian women, especially journalists, continue to endure.
Over 25 female journalists have been killed, and dozens more have been injured or arrested during the ongoing Israeli military offensive in Gaza.
The Palestinian Journalist Syndicate urged journalists, women’s rights organisations, and human rights groups to participate in the campaign in support of Palestinian women in general, and female journalists in particular, who are facing immense challenges in these turbulent times.
This initiative is part of the global 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, calling for solidarity and justice for Palestinian women and journalists enduring violence and oppression. - BERNAMA
