70 years of life: Hussamuddin's journey in making Karangkraf a path of jihad, building civilisation

SHAH ALAM - Karangkraf Group has evolved beyond being just a corporate entity focused on generating income for its members; it now serves as a platform for jihad (struggle in good deed permitted by God) in building civilisation and spreading the message of Islam.
This is in line with the message from Surah Al-Saff, which was recited and shared during founder Datuk Hussamuddin Yaacub’s birthday celebration "70 Tahun Meniti Usia: Majlis Kesyukuran Legasi Haji Yaacub" held at the Karangkraf complex, here, today.
Greatness Consulting founder Dr Legisan S Samtafsir said Surah Al-Saff has been a source of inspiration for Karangkraf's enduring spirit of perseverance over the past 47 years.
The Surah embodies the dual role of striving to serve as both a devout servant and a responsible caliph of Allah SWT.
Legisan said the success achieved today is a testament to the efforts of Hussamuddin, affectionately known as "Ayahanda" (father), who started small and steadily built Karangkraf into what it is today.
"I am convinced that no fighter achieves success instantly. The journey is never linear; it is always uphill. I can only imagine how Ayahanda has managed this over 47 years.
“Today, Karangkraf has become a remarkable institution. It has brought benefits not just to his family but also to all the staff, their families and society at large, for the nation and the people.
“His vision for Karangkraf is for it to be an institution that impacts the country, not just a business entity. This is an extraordinary declaration.
"I tried to understand him... his intention is clear. He wants Karangkraf to be a path of dakwah (preaching). I’ve heard that the Quran Hour programme has already reached over 70 countries. Subhanallah.
"This demonstrates that Karangkraf serves as a means of jihad to spread the message of Islam. It is a mission to build civilisation, strengthen the nation and uplift the people. Today, this vision has become a reality," he said during his speech at the event.
Legisan emphasised that Karangkraf's continued success must be upheld by the same spirit of determination exemplified by Hussamuddin which is rooted in the faith in Allah SWT, devotion to His Messenger and striving with both wealth and soul.
"If Karangkraf is not managed with the spirit of jihad as Ayahanda has demonstrated, there is no guarantee it will sustain.
"If Karangkraf falls, it’s not just Ayahanda or us who lose, but the entire ummah, nation and country. Even the journey of Islamic dakwah will be disrupted," he said.
He also highlighted that this anniversary celebration was exceptionally special due to the recitation of Quranic verses by all levels of management and staff.
"I’ve visited many other companies, but I’ve never seen a company or its owner celebrate an anniversary by reciting Quranic verses.
"Today, Surah Al-Saff was recited at Karangkraf in the presence of its leaders and managers. This is truly special.
“Congratulations to Karangkraf, Hussamuddin, his family and the entire Karangkraf family. May Karangkraf continue to succeed and be blessed by Allah SWT," he said.
