SHAH ALAM – Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (Bersatu) has criticised Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, accusing him of being "tone-deaf" to the concerns and struggles of the people.

Its Armada chief Muhammad Hilman Idham said the current government was entirely disconnected from the root causes of issues and the daily challenges endured by Malaysians.

"The issues affecting Malaysians today stem from a government and leadership that refuse to acknowledge the people's suffering.

"They sit comfortably in their "palace" in Putrajaya, oblivious to the hardships faced by ordinary Malaysians," he said in his speech during the seventh Bersatu Annual General Assembly held at the Ideal Convention Centre, here, today.

The event was also attended by Bersatu president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin, deputy president Datuk Seri Hamzah Zainudin, vice-presidents Datuk Dr Radzi Jidin, Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee and Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.

Hilman pointed out that the rising inflation and skyrocketing cost of living have made life increasingly difficult for the people and yet the government remained oblivious.

He said Bersatu stood as a defender of the people, particularly during challenging times.

The party's leadership, he said has not only identified the issues but has also proposed practical solutions to address them.

He also criticised the government for leading the country in the wrong direction, noting that many young Malaysians were concerned about the lack of innovation and meaningful reform in managing the country’s economy.

"The youth are disillusioned by the absence of implementation and genuine transformation.

"All these issues trace back to one individual, Anwar Ibrahim, who is more focused on maintaining his position than enacting true reform," he said.

He called on party members to work towards creating a strong and realistic political foundation to ensure success in the next general election.

He also advised party members to focus on genuine grassroots efforts, stating that victory in the real political battlefield can only be achieved through unwavering commitment and hard work.
