SHAH ALAM - Four luxury cars and other belongings of renowned cosmetics mogul Datuk Seri Hasmiza Othman, popularly known as Datuk Vida were seized by the Kuala Lumpur High Court at her Meru residence, today.

The seized vehicles included two Vellfires, a Toyota Grand Hiace and a BMW X7, along with all the items inside the house.

According to a report by English daily The Star, Hasmiza had failed to settle a debt of RM1,060,285 for the renovation of her factory, here, into a studio in 2018.

It was reported that an Ipoh High Court bailiff, along with the company’s lawyer Samir Zainal and sub-contractor Mohamad Taufik Kamarul, who suffered losses, arrived at her house on Persiaran Bukit Meru in Ipoh, Perak at 9am, today.

However, they were only allowed to enter at about 10.30am after several of Hasmiza’s staff arrived.

Samir said on Oct 29 last year, the High Court issued a judgement for Hasmiza to settle her debts, which she had failed to do.

"It took the bailiff nearly four hours to tag all items from the house, except for Vida’s room, which was locked.

"She is given two weeks to settle the debt; otherwise, all the items will be auctioned off. She has until Dec 9 to do so," he told The Star.

Samir said he was informed by Vida’s staff that she was currently in China and that she would contact him soon regarding the matter.

Meanwhile, it was reported that Taufik stated that he has been trying to recover his money for six years since 2018.

He said Hasmiza had hired a consultancy company for the renovation work, which then engaged his services for the job.

However, he said when the job was completed, the company could not pay him as Hasmiza had not paid the company and as a result, he had to file a bankruptcy case against the company.
