AT just 18, a car accident left Pavithran Nokiah with a dislocated pelvis, multiple knee surgeries and a year-long recovery that tested his physical and mental strength. But what could have been a permanent setback became the foundation for a remarkable journey in bodybuilding, culminating in international recognition as a fitness model and "Champ of Champion" titleholder.

Today, the 29-year-old is celebrated as a Men’s Fitness Model, inspiring others with his story of resilience and determination. But the road to recovery was anything but easy.

"My major accident was an unforgettable day in my life. It was back in 2012 when I was just 18. My friends and I went out for the night, and on our way back, we lost control of the car and collided with another vehicle," he told Sinar Daily during an interview in conjunction with Movember, a month dedicated to raising awareness about men’s mental and physical health.

The impact was severe, trapping Pavithran in the crumpled car. Looking at the condition, he said the Fire and Rescue team even informed his family that the driver might be dead.

"The Fire and Rescue department had to cut the driver’s seat to pull me out. Those few minutes felt like an eternity,” he said.

He was rushed to Teluk Intan Hospital, where he faced a grim diagnosis—a dislocated pelvis and severe injuries to both knees, requiring major surgeries. During his month-long hospital stay, Pavithran described himself as 'lying like a dead body' and the real challenge began after he was discharged.

The first four months, he relied on crutches to stand and walk. "It took over a year to regain my working strength. I had to rebuild myself from scratch, and it wasn’t just physical—it was mental too," he shared.

Unable to train his legs due to lasting injuries, Pavithran turned his focus to his upper body, diving headfirst into bodybuilding. He said the gym became his sanctuary, not only did it help his phsyical recovery but also enabled him become mentally fit as well.
