KUALA TERENGGANU - The "Jodoh Darul Iman" app, set to launch soon in Terengganu, will be exclusively available to single people looking for a life partner.

State Welfare, Women and Family Development and National Unity exco Maliaman Kassim said this was one of the conditions set to prevent the application from being misused by certain groups.

He said the app developed by the State Family Development Foundation (YPKT), aimed to ensure that the matchmaking process among Terengganu residents aligned with Islamic teachings.

"Users of this app are required to use the platform for first-time marriages and not for the purpose of polygamy.

"One of the conditions for those who want to use this app is that they must be single or a single parent who intends to find a life partner.

"We hope that with this app, more single individuals or single parents will find a life partner according to Islamic principles," he said when contacted.

Maliaman added that the app was currently undergoing a simulation process before its official launch to ensure it operated smoothly according to the original plan.

He also said the app will assist individuals seeking marriage to find a partner that meets both parties' criteria.

"Once a suitable partner is found, the couple should not meet alone or engage in inappropriate behaviour to ensure that the process of getting to know each other follows Islamic guidelines.

"We also aim to create a harmonious environment for young people who wish to begin a married life by maintaining proper conduct and manners before marriage," he said.
