Toddler sets Malaysian record, naming 57 car logos in one minute
Rajamitheran’s fascination with car logos began when he first saw a Volkswagen on the road at the age of one.
SHAH ALAM - A two-year-old boy from Ipoh, M Rajamitheran, has set a new record in Malaysia for naming 57 car logos within one minute, earning him recognition from the Malaysian Book of Records (MBOR) on Oct 25.
Rajamitheran's mother, C Saranyaa, explained that her son, who is two years and eleven months old, was recognised for the category of most car logos identified by a child.
According to Saranyaa, Rajamitheran’s fascination with car logos began when he first saw a Volkswagen on the road at the age of one.
“From that point, my husband, S M Mugilan, started teaching him by introducing five car logos using children’s flashcards. The next day, my son could already remember those five logos.
"Within just two months, he knew 70 car logos. After discussing it with my husband, we decided to take Rajamitheran to MBOR,” she said.
During the test session with the MBOR panel, Rajamitheran initially managed to name 45 logos in his first attempt, but in his second, he could only answer ten.
“For this recognition, we were only allowed three attempts. I thought they would just ask about the 70 car logos I had taught him, but I did not expect them to also ask about logos that Rajamitheran did not know,” Saranyaa added.
For the third and final attempt, MBOR gave the family a month to prepare. After rigorous practice, Rajamitheran named 70 logos and after accounting for minor pronunciation errors, MBOR set his official record at 57 car logos.
Currently, Rajamitheran can identify a total of 200 car logos, an impressive feat for someone his age.
