RAMALLAH - The Palestinian Education Ministry reported that 11,923 students have been killed and 19,199 injured since the onset of Israeli aggression in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on Oct 7 last year.

The ministry stated that the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip has surpassed 11,808, with 18,596 injured, while in the West Bank, 115 students have been killed and 603 others injured, according to the Palestine News and Info Agency (WAFA).

It added that 561 teachers and administrators were killed and 3,729 were injured in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 148 were detained in the West Bank.

The ministry pointed out that 341 government schools, universities, and their buildings, along with 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), were bombed and vandalised in the Gaza Strip, resulting in 138 suffering severe damage and 77 being completely destroyed.

The Education Ministry confirmed that 788,000 students in the Gaza Strip are still deprived of attending their schools and universities since the beginning of the aggression, while most students suffer from psychological trauma and face difficult health conditions.

It pointed out that the repeated occupation raids on the Jenin and Tulkarm governorates have caused terror among students in their schools. - BERNAMA
