Palestinian Foreign Ministry mobilises global opposition to Israeli law banning UNRWA operations
The ministry emphasised that this diplomatic initiative is conducted in partnership with brotherly and friendly Arab and Islamic countries.
RAMALLAH - The Palestinian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates instructed its embassies and missions to engage with foreign ministries, decision-makers, and public opinion in their host countries to build a broad international coalition to pressure Israel over its recent law prohibiting the operations of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA).
According to the Palestinian News and Info Agency (WAFA), in a statement on Tuesday, the Ministry emphasised that this diplomatic initiative is conducted in partnership with brotherly and friendly Arab and Islamic countries.
The ministry also expressed appreciation for countries that have opposed the Israeli Knesset's decision against UNRWA, urging all nations to publicly denounce the law as an act of aggression against the Palestinian people and refugees, as well as an attack on the United Nations and its specialised agencies.
It called for immediate action to turn global opposition into concrete steps to hold Israel accountable, protect UN institutions, and compel Israel to rescind and halt the law’s implementation. - BERNAMA
