Police search for food delivery rider impersonator in necklace theft

SERDANG – Police are on the hunt for a motorcyclist dressed like a food delivery rider who is suspected of snatching a woman’s necklace at a fruit store in Taman Universiti Indah, Seri Kembangan, on Tuesday.

Serdang district police chief Assistant Commissioner A. A. Anbalagan said that the incident occurred at 1pm when the 37-year-old victim was standing on the shop’s sidewalk.

"The suspect, riding a blue Yamaha LC 135 motorcycle, snatched the victim’s pendant necklace worth RM3,000.

"The victim was not injured," he said in a statement on Thursday.

Police are actively identifying the suspect involved in this case.

The case is being investigated under Section 392 of the Penal Code.

"The public with any information regarding this crime can contact the nearest police station," he added.
