BATU GAJAH - Police have arrested five men in Batu Gajah for allegedly raping a 15-year-old girl.

Perak Deputy Police Chief Deputy Commissioner Zulkafli Sariaat said that the incident involving the student was discovered after police managed to locate the victim following a report made by her mother.

According to Zulkafli, the mother filed a report stating that the victim did not return home after school, which ended around 1.30pm on Monday.

"It is suspected that the victim's mother was not monitoring her, as the victim had actually gone to meet her boyfriend, wandered around, and met other men she had just gotten to know.

"The victim, who went out to eat with these new acquaintances, was then brought to a hostel occupied by five men.

"She was offered to stay in an empty room to sleep and rest before being raped by the five suspects," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Zulkafli added that a team of investigators successfully tracked the victim at the hostel and brought her to the Batu Gajah district police headquarters (IPD) for questioning.

"During the interrogation, it was revealed that the victim was raped by the five men at the hostel around 10.22pm on Monday.
