SHAH ALAM - The Straight Path Convention (TSP), an annual ‘ilm (knowledge) quenching Islamic convention is back for its 10th year with an expanded lineup of globally renowned speakers.

The 10th edition of the event, which will be held for two days, will take place at Menara Kembar Rakyat in Kuala Lumpur from from Nov 23.

Themed "Prophetic Legacy: Empowering Next Gen", this year's convention (TSP 2024) aims to empower Muslims from diverse backgrounds to focus on nurturing the future generation.

It will emphasise a sound worldview grounded in authentic Prophetic teachings through dynamic and eye-opening dialogues and discussions.

The convention also aims to bring together experts to inspire and educate the Muslim community.

TSP co-founder and director Farid Ullah Ahmed Hussain said Muslims today faced challenges, particularly young people, who were especially vulnerable to negative influences.

"Many are unsure of their roles in society, while others struggle with confidence in their faith and identity.

"This often leads to disinterest in contributing meaningfully to their communities, as they seek motivation and purpose from external sources," he said.

Farid emphasised the responsibility of Muslims to empower their youth through Islam, guiding them to rediscover pride in their faith.

He highlighted the importance of fostering a sense of purpose rooted in the teachings of the Prophet.

"This is the central theme of this year's convention," he added.

Celebrating a decade in the local dakwah scene, the convention has broadened its lineup to include distinguished speakers from around the globe, each bringing a wealth of knowledge.

These experts will delve into crucial topics and strategies to address the challenges facing Muslims today, all anchored in the authentic teachings of the Quran and Sunnah

The speakers at TSP 2024 are Imam Development Programme, South Africa founder and director Sheikh Bilal Ismail; An-Nadaa Educational Foundation, Nigeria founder Dr Ibrahim Nuhu Tahir; Muslim Chaplain at the University of Nottingham and United Kingdom Roots Academy academic director Hisham Abu Yusuf; Mufti, judge and National Waqf Fund, United Kingdom (UK) Syariah adviser Sheikh Dr Sajid Umar; and Nafsib Wahida, New York founder Dr Hassan Akbar.

Sapience Institute, UK founder and chief executive officer Hamza Andreas Tzortzis will be the event moderator for TSP 2024.

Meanwhile, Farid said the unique platform could significantly contribute to fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of the values that unite the communities in Malaysia and around the globe.

During the two-day event, these esteemed speakers will provide valuable insights on essential topics, including effective parenting strategies, addressing contemporary challenges, fostering quality leadership and preserving Islamic legacy and identity.

Farid highlighted that the goal is to reintroduce inspiring Muslim role models to instil conviction and confidence in young people, helping them cultivate a renewed sense of belonging and identity.

"We hope this convention will profoundly impact all participants and visitors," he said.

There will also be engaging activities at the event such as the TSP Junior and various booths featuring a range of products and services, including books, food, apparel and educational materials.

A dedicated mother’s room will be provided for mothers attending with their children.
