Government’s need-based budget focuses on all communities - Prabakaran
MP commends new Indian settlement plan as progressive step.
KUALA LUMPUR - Batu Member of Parliament P. Prabakaran lauded the government for its initiative to form a designated Indian settlement, calling it a progressive move for the community.
Speaking to Sinar Daily, he highlighted that this new initiative would be managed by the Housing and Local Government Ministry (KPKT), marking a first of its kind for the Indian community.
"I think this is one of the most interesting aspects of the budget. The government truly focused on a need-based budget, catering to all communities without segregation.
"The Indian settlement plan, handled by KPKT, is a fresh initiative aimed at improving infrastructure in these areas, something we had not seen before," he said.
Prabakaran also stressed the government's broader focus on education, particularly regarding improvements to school infrastructure.
"The Education Ministry received the highest allocation this year, nearly RM70 billion. This investment is not just in infrastructure but also in ensuring quality education. I can only applaud the government for this," he added.
Another aspect of the budget that Prabakaran praised was the allocation for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
