SHAH ALAM - The Malaysian government is set to launch of the National Service Training Programme (PLKN) 3.0 as a pilot project with a fresh concept, backed by a RM50 million allocation.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, when tabling the 2025 Budget today emphasised the significance of the programme.

“The initiative will engage school cadet graduates and will be implemented by the Defence Ministry.

“To ensure the success of PLKN 3.0, the police and other uniformed agencies will collaborate, using existing infrastructure with the support of the National Institute of Public Administration (Intan),” he stressed.

Alongside PLKN, the government is also investing in the development of youth potential through the Rakan Muda Programme, which has been allocated RM25 million.

"The Rakan Muda Programme will continue to serve as a platform for building the potential and identity of young people with a strong national character," Anwar explained.
