2025 Budget: Single individuals to get RM600 in Rahmah Cash Aid, households to get RM4,600

The Finance Minister said the increase will benefit nine million recipients, or about 60 per cent of the adult population in the country.

KUALA LUMPUR - Single individuals will receive RM600 under the Rahmah Cash Aid (STR), an increase from RM500, this year.

Finance Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the increase in allocation for the STR through the 2025 Budget will also raise the maximum amount of households to RM4,600, compared to RM3,700.

"We acknowledge and have heard the complaints about the cost of living. Therefore, we are taking steps and implementing economic policies that reflect an increase in allocations and maximum cash assistance ever provided by the government to address the people's cost of living.

"For 2025, we will provide the highest increase for the STR and the Sumbangan Asas Rahmah (Sara), totalling RM13 billion compared to RM10 billion.

"This increase will benefit nine million recipients, or about 60 per cent of the adult population in the country," he said while tabling the 2025 Budget in the Dewan Rakyat, today.

Anwar who is also the Prime Minister said 4.1 million households STR recipients will also receive Sara assistance of RM100 per month next year, compared to 700,000 recipients this year.

"The Sara assistance will be credited to the recipients' MyKad starting in April 2025 and can be used to purchase essential items such as food and beverages, medicines, school supplies and personal hygiene products at over 600 supermarkets and retail stores nationwide," he said.
