2025 Budget: Government to allocate RM421 billion for next year

SHAH ALAM - Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim said the federal government is setting aside RM421 billion for the 2025 Budget.

Of the total allocation for the 2025 Budget, he said RM335 billion and RM86 billion were for management and development expenditures, respectively.

The biggest allocation will go to the education sector with RM15 billion, followed by health (RM6.9 billion) and security (RM12.3 billion).

The 2025 Budget, was the third under the unity government.

Themed "Ekonomi Madani, Negara Makmur, Rakyat Sejahtera" it was the final budget under the 12th Malaysia Plan (2021-2025), paving the way for the upcoming 13th Malaysia Plan (13MP) over the next five years.

In the 2024 Budget the government allocated RM393.8 billion with RM303.8 billion for operating expenditure while the remaining RM90 billion for development expenditure, with RM2 billion in contingency savings.
