Najib's daughter Nooryana joins Matrade board

Her appointment was recently announced by Matrade’s chairman, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican in a Facebook post on his official account yesterday.

SHAH ALAM - Former prime minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak's daughter, Nooryana Najwa Najib has been appointed as a board member of the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation (Matrade).

Her appointment was recently announced by Matrade’s chairman, Datuk Seri Reezal Merican Naina Merican in a Facebook post on his official account yesterday.

In the post, Reezal expressed his appreciation to all the board members who attended the official meeting he chaired as part of the 2024 Matrade Board of Directors Meeting.

"Before the meeting began, I handed over the appointment letter to the new board member of Matrade, Nooryana.

“I also witnessed her reciting the anti-corruption pledge, alongside two other board members, Datuk Hairil Yahri Yaacob and Dr Mastura Abdul Karim.

"Congratulations to Nooryana on her new appointment as a Matrade board member. I also want to express my gratitude to all the board members who attended,” Reezal said in his post.

He also extended his appreciation to Matrade's chief executive officer, Datuk Mohd Mustafa Abdul Aziz, along with the senior management team, for their participation in the meeting.

During the meeting, Reezal not only highlighted Nooryana's recent appointment but also emphasised Matrade's strategic direction and plans for the year.

He expressed confidence that all initiatives would be successfully executed, ultimately benefiting local companies in the international market.

"We aim to ensure that all initiatives outlined for Matrade this year are successfully implemented, bringing substantial benefits to local businesses,” he added.
