Takaful Malaysia Group chief executive officer, Nor Azman Zaina said Kaotim Car and Kaotim Motor is a key strategy to expand their presence in the retail market, focusing on the growing motor insurance and takaful sector driven by increasing vehicle sales.

“We aim to enhance our footprint in the digital insurance and takaful space while addressing the evolving needs and expectations of today’s vehicle owners.

“We are excited to introduce Kaotim Car and Kaotim Motor, the latest additions to the product offering under our digital brand and online platform, Kaotim,” he said during a recent launch event in Penang.

The new offerings aim to streamline the experience for vehicle owners, allowing them to easily purchase protection plans online with just a few clicks, thanks to a quick sign-up process and instant approval.

The launch event saw the presence of several key figures, including Takaful Malaysia, Group Chairman, Datuk Mohammed Hussein; Takaful Malaysia Am, Chairman, Ismail Mahbob; members of the Board of Directors; the Shariah Advisory Body; Takaful Malaysia Am, chief executive officer, Mohamed Sabri Ramli; along with other senior management officials.

“These new online products provide vehicle owners with comprehensive protection that is affordable and easily accessible via a mobile-friendly platform to receive fully customisable quotations and coverage,” Azman said.

Kaotim Car offers extensive protection for private vehicles, covering accidental damage, fire, theft, third-party liability, and property damage. It includes 24/7 roadside assistance, unlimited towing, and personal accident coverage for both drivers and passengers.

With up to eleven customizable add-ons, such as Motor PA Plus for additional personal accident benefits, customers can personalise their coverage to fit their specific needs.

On the other hand, Kaotim Motor provides solid protection for motorcycles, covering accidental damage, fire, theft, and third-party liabilities.

The plan features 24-hour roadside assistance, a one-time complimentary towing service, and four flexible add-on options, including Bike PA Plus, which offers extra coverage for death or permanent disablement resulting from road accidents.

Azman also added that Kaotim Car customers will benefit from perks like a zero-interest instalment plan, a 10 per cent instant discount, and RM15,000 in complimentary personal accident coverage for each insured individual.

“For Kaotim Motor, there is an instant 10 per cent discount, free one-time breakdown towing, and coverage that includes all authorized riders, subject to terms and conditions,” he said.

The launch aligns with Takaful Malaysia's broader strategy to expand its digital offerings, coinciding with the company’s 40th anniversary, he added.

“The roll-out of Kaotim Car and Kaotim Motor signifies a significant achievement in our ongoing efforts to provide user-friendly, digital-first solutions that cater to the evolving preferences of consumers.

“As we celebrate our milestone anniversary, these offerings enable us to remain competitive in Malaysia’s motor and non-motor takaful and insurance markets,” said Azman.
