Parliament goes sugar-free on Wednesdays starting this week, says Speaker

The Sugar-Free Day which is an initiative to promote healthy lifestyle will involve not just parliamentary staff but also the MPs.

KUALA LUMPUR - To promote a healthy lifestyle, the Dewan Rakyat has launched the Sugar-Free Day initiative every Wednesday, starting this week.

Dewan Rakyat Speaker Tan Sri Johari Abdul said the initiative will not only involve parliamentary staff but will also include all members of Parliament (MPs).

"To encourage a healthy lifestyle, Sugar-Free Day will be implemented in Parliament every Wednesday.

"The Sugar-Free Day will involve not just parliamentary staff but also the MPs.

"This supports the need for a collective commitment to a healthier lifestyle," he said during the Dewan Rakyat session, here, today. - AWANI
