KUALA LUMPUR - "My two sons died in accidents in the same month and now I have no more sons in the family," said Jamaludin Hussin, 53, father of the late Khairil Anwar, 20.

Khairil Anwar, who was a Bachelor of Accounting student at Universiti Teknologi Mara (UiTM) Dungun, Terengganu, died in an accident in front of the university in Kampung Sura Hujung here on Wednesday night.

The accident also claimed the lives of Bachelor of Accounting student Ku Adib Aizab Ku Azmi, 20 and Bachelor of Food Service Management student Muhammad Akmal Md Tukirin, 20.

Meanwhile, their friend Mohd Ammar Danish Mohd Rodhuan, 20, sustained serious injuries.

Jamaludin said that the last time he and his wife, Norma Mohammed Nor, 52, saw their youngest child among five siblings was on Oct 6, when they sent him to Dungun to start a new semester.

"I truly did not expect this incident to happen again; seven years ago, my eldest son, Muhammad Khairul Izzudin, also died in a road accident in Senawang, Negeri Sembilan.

"The accident happened on Oct 3, 2017, and now my youngest on Oct 9; even the timing of the incident is almost the same," he said when contacted by Sinar Harian on Thursday.

The body of Khairil Anwar is expected to arrive at Masjid Nurul Hidayah Kampung Pandan around 4 pm before being buried at the Islamic Cemetery Ukay Perdana, Ampang.
