KOTA KINABALU - A team of firemen from the Lintas Fire and Rescue Station (BBP) successfully rescued a cat that was found under the Luyang overpass, approximately 10 meters high.

The animal rescue operation was carried out after they received an emergency call at 4.26pm on Wednesday.

BBP Lintas chief Agustivia Joe Guasi said a total of 11 firemen were dispatched to the location, located six kilometres from the fire house.

"Upon arriving at the scene, a cat was found under the overpass, about 10 metres high and the firefighters used a ladder to rescue the cat.

"The operation to bring the cat down took almost half an hour. The cat was then handed over to a member of the public who wished to adopt it as a pet," he said in a statement on Wednesday.

Agustivia added that the rescue operation concluded at 5.06pm after ensuring the cat was safe.
