Auntie Anne’s Mid Valley outlet temporarily closed after worker found kissing dough

SHAH ALAM - Auntie Anne's Malaysia has fired an employee who went viral for sharing photos of herself sniffing and kissing dough while at work online.

In a statement posted on Facebook, the pretzel chain said the employee was immediately terminated after the incident.

"Thank you to all who have shown concern and highlighted the recent incident involving Alice Chang.

"We would like to clarify that Alice Chang was previously employed by Auntie Anne’s Malaysia but she was immediately terminated following this incident," the statement read.

The company also stressed its commitment to strict hygiene and safety standards, stating that it does not tolerate any behaviour that compromises these principles.

"At Auntie Anne’s Malaysia, we are committed to upholding the highest standards of hygiene and safety for our customers and staff.

"We do not condone or tolerate any actions that compromise these standards," it said.

It also informed the public that the chain's outlet at the Mid Valley Megamall, Kuala Lumpur, where the employee worked, has been temporarily closed for thorough disinfection and cleaning.

The outlet will reopen once the necessary cleaning was completed.

"We appreciate the understanding and patience of our valued customers during this time.

"Rest assured, your safety and well-being are always our top priority," it said in the statement.
