SHAH ALAM - Vapes that resemble everyday school items like marker pens and glue sticks are raising serious concerns among parents and teachers, as more students use these discreet devices to smoke in school.

Such designs led many to urge the government to implement stricter measures to address the rising trend of youth vaping.

In a recent post on the ‘Kami Guru Malaysia’ Facebook group, a teacher shared her shocking discovery, including photos of these covert vapes.

She also recounted an experience where she caught a student using one in class.

"At first glance, it looks like any stationery, marker pens, glue and pencil,” she said.

The discreet designs made it more difficult for educators to identify students who are vaping on school premises, she said, as students could easily conceal these devices in plain sight, leaving parents and teachers unaware of the issue.

Members of the Facebook group have voiced their frustration and anxiety, urging for stronger regulations and enforcement to prevent this alarming trend from continuing to spread in schools.
