KLUANG - An elderly couple from Taman Suria, here, felt extremely fortunate when Johor Menteri Besar Datuk Onn Hafiz Ghazi pull up at their house to transport them to the polling centre.

Zuriah Saat, 60, and Abdul Aziz Osman, 62, were driven in a Proton X50 by Onn Hafiz to the polling centre at Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan Seri Perdana.

Zuriah said she did not expect the Mahkota by-election to create such a sweet memory for her and her husband.

"I didn't expect the Menteri Besar to come to our house early in the morning to pick up my husband and me to the polling centre.

"We have never missed our responsibility as voters, even though I am now unwell," she said.

The vehicle driven by Onn Hafiz arrived at the polling centre at about 8am and staff from the Election Commission (EC) were ready to assist the couple by providing wheelchairs.
