SUBANG BESTARI - Actor Fattah Amin is not prepared to divorce his wife, actress and entrepreneur Nur Fazura Sharifuddin.

Fattah's lawyer Zulkifli Che Yong said his client who starred in the film "Pendekar Awang" was trying to finalise the terms for an amicable settlement with Fazura, 40.

During the mention of the divorce application proceedings before Syariah judge Abdul Malik Soleh, today, Zulkifli said the case involved issues throughout the marriage.

If the couple wished to settle the matter amicably, he said the terms of the agreement must be finalised to prevent ongoing conflicts and unresolved issues.

"Fattah as the defendant will state his position whether he agrees to the divorce or otherwise on Oct 7.

"This is a court proceeding, so there is no justification for my client to disclose the facts of the case as it would only prejudice the case," Zulkifli said.

The lawyer also expressed hope that Fattah, whose full name is Abdul Fattah Mohd Amin, 34, and the actress of "Gol & Gincu," as the plaintiff, could resolve their marital issues amicably with agreed terms.

On Sept 17, a statement about the divorce application involving the couple went viral.

It is understood that the application was filed at the Petaling Syariah lower court under Section 47 of the Islamic Family Law (State of Selangor) Enactment 2003.

The couple, who married in November 2017 has a four-year-old daughter.
