KLUANG - Perikatan Nasional (PN) candidate for the Mahkota by-election Mohamad Haizan Jaafar has clarified that all parties within the coalition are actively supporting his campaign, addressing rumours suggesting otherwise.

This follows speculation that Kluang Pas, a key party in the PN coalition, had not been involved in his campaign efforts.

"Yes, Kluang Pas did help me. Who said they didn’t?," asked Haizan when met earlier today.

He stressed that support has come from multiple levels of Pas, including Kluang Pas, Pas Johor, and Pas Terengganu.

"Earlier, I met Pas Terengganu representatives.

"Everyone is contributing to the Mahkota by-election campaign," he added.

Haizan dismissed claims of unequal contributions from coalition members, stressing the unity of the Perikatan Nasional coalition.

"PN members support one another. If anyone says Pas isn’t helping, that’s false," he said.

Haizan’s comments come as the Mahkota by-election draws significant attention, with coalition members working to secure voter support in the constituency.

His remarks aim to quash rumours of disunity within PN and highlight the collaborative efforts of its member parties as the election date nears.

The Mahkota by-election, held following the death of incumbent Datuk Sharifah Azizah Syed Zain on Aug 2, is a straight fight between Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate Syed Hussien Syed Abdullah and Haizan.

The Election Commission (EC) has set Sept 28 as polling day, while early voting takes place on Sept 24.
