Earlier this month Sinar Plus hosted an engaging programme called Borak Bibir Merah, which tackled thought-provoking topics such as early marriage and the child-free lifestyle.

The programme focused on issues like early marriage and the child-free movement, offering women informative discussions and relevant knowledge, particularly resonating with today’s youth.

Hosted by the glamorous Rozita Che Wan, the event featured celebrities such as actress and singer Bella Astillah, and Nabila Razali, with insightful religious guidance shared by Da’i Izzhar Nazri.

Universiti Tenaga Nasional (UNITEN) Media Officer, Alia Syahida Mohd Zain, 30, expressed her delight in attending the programme, praising it for being not only fun and lively but also deeply informative and valuable, especially for women.

"Honestly, I came because I’m a huge fan of Rozita Che Wan and who wouldn’t want to see her in person? But beyond that, this programme was truly designed for women.

“The topics were engaging, and the insights shared were such important reminders for life," she said at the Borak Bibir Merah event recently.

Alia shared that what resonated with her most was a prayer Da'i shared for those feeling lost, a moment that has stayed with her since. She emphasised the need for more talks like this, adding how many programmes today lack relevance and substance.

"This programme was relaxed and fun, yet still packed with valuable lessons, even incorporating religious elements. We need more of these kinds of gatherings," she added.

Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) student, Izdad Mustapa, 22, said that throughout this whole talk programme, he gained a lot of knowledge and new insights from this event.

“I enjoyed the event. It was a great experience, especially having the chance to see well-known celebrities in person, definitely something new for me

“One of the key topics discussed was the ‘childfree’ lifestyle, and I found it particularly relatable because this issue has been trending lately,” he said.

He said that people have varied perspectives and opinions on the topic, and he felt the discussion was well-handled, helping him to see different sides of the issue and deepen his understanding.

Izdad emphasised the importance of practising media literacy, especially as netizens when sharing content on social media.

“Celebrities and influencers play crucial roles in spreading information, and in times like these, it’s important for the younger generation to understand the impact of what they share,” he added.

He stressed the need to acquire knowledge that not only benefits ourselves but also contributes positively to society.

Izdad’s classmate, Abyan Afiqah Yusri, 20, also expressed her excitement about being part of the talk show programme representing UPTM especially since it featured celebrities she admired.

"I'm a huge fan of Rozita Che Wan and Bella Astillah. This was my first time attending an event like this, so it’s been a new and exciting experience for me, just like for my friends," she shared.

Abyan highlighted that one of the most impactful moments of the programme was the discussion on honesty in relationships, particularly when searching for a life partner, as emphasised by the Da'i during the panel.

"That resonated with me," she said.

Universiti Poly-Tech Malaysia (UPTM) Corporate Communication lecturer, Mohd Alif Idham Abd Hamid, 34, said the topic was especially relevant to young people today.

As a lecturer, he stated that seeing many students gravitating toward modern relationship trends, such as 'situationships,' where strong commitment is often lacking. This talk, he said, opened their eyes to these discussions, and he encouraged his students to listen attentively and take these insights to heart.

“For me, education isn't just about academics, it's about shaping mentality and attitude,” he added.
