TEMERLOH – Pas leadership has been reminded to be mindful of their responses to political opponents, ensuring that the feelings and sentiments of non-Muslim communities in Malaysia are respected.

Kelantan Pas representative Firdaus Mohamed Nawi stressed the importance of avoiding retaliatory attacks and maintaining a constructive approach.

He cautioned against actions that could alienate non-Muslim communities and undermine the party's efforts to promote religious harmony.

"Don't burn down the mosquito net in anger over a mosquito.

"Don’t fire scattershot bullets, making non-Muslims feel that the message of dawah (preaching) is directed at them," he said.

Firdaus made these remarks during a debate on the Youth Chief's keynote address at the 65th Pas Youth Muktamar on Thursday.

Earlier, Pas Youth Chief Afnan Hamimi Taib Azamudden had reminded delegates to dispel the notion that non-Malays automatically support Pakatan Harapan (PH) and DAP.

The Alor Setar Member of Parliament noted that this stigma was a political assumption that party members needed to abandon.

Firdaus also called on Pas members to maintain peace and harmony among the races without linking it to political rivalries.

"When responding to attacks from opponents, do so wisely without alienating our friends from the Chinese and Indian communities. Many Malaysians still value racial harmony," he added.
