Vocational student killed in fatal road collision involving heavy vehicle in Klang

Police are currently searching for the unidentified heavy vehicle and its driver, who are believed to be unaware of the incident.

KLANG - A vocational college student was tragically killed in a road accident involving two motorcycles and a heavy vehicle on Jalan Telok Gong near here earlier today.

According to Klang Selatan district police chief Assistant Commissioner Cha Hoong Fong, the 18-year-old motorcyclist was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident, which occurred around 7.30am.

"The incident unfolded when the two motorcycles, travelling in opposite directions, collided in the middle of the road.

"The impact caused the victim to be thrown onto the road and struck by a passing heavy vehicle.

"Another motorcyclist, aged 20, sustained serious injuries and was immediately transported to Tengku Ampuan Rahimah Hospital (HTAR) in Klang for medical treatment," he said in a statement today.

Police are currently searching for the unidentified heavy vehicle and its driver, who are believed to be unaware of the incident.

The case is being investigated under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act (APJ) 1987.
