This announcement follows months of public absence as the Princess focused on her health, which began with a routine abdominal surgery that led to the discovery of her condition.

In a heartfelt video posted on the official Instagram account, @princeandprincessofwales, Kate whose full name is Catherine Elizabeth Middleton, expressed her immense relief at having completed chemotherapy.

"As the summer comes to an end, I cannot tell you what a relief it is to have finally completed my chemotherapy treatment.

“The last nine months have been incredibly tough for us as a family. Life as you know it can change in an instant," read the caption on Monday.

The royal acknowledged the profound challenges her family has endured over the past several months, describing her battle with cancer as "complex, scary, and unpredictable."

She further reflected on how this difficult journey forced her to confront vulnerabilities she had never anticipated, ultimately providing her with a renewed outlook on life and a deeper sense of gratitude for the simple things often taken for granted.

According to reports, the Princess has spent much of her recovery at Adelaide Cottage in Windsor, focusing on her health and spending time with her family. Although the specifics of her cancer type have not been disclosed, it is clear that the journey has been life-altering for her and her loved ones.

Despite the rigorous toll of her treatment, the Princess of Wales remains hopeful and is eager to resume her royal duties in the coming months gradually. Kate also shared her determination to return to public engagements with a renewed sense of purpose and appreciation for life.

While she has completed her chemotherapy, she emphasised that her focus now is on staying cancer-free, acknowledging that her journey to full recovery will be ongoing.

“Although I have finished chemotherapy, my path to healing and full recovery is long and I must continue to take each day as it comes,” the caption added.

Kate continued in her statement stressed deep gratitude for the overwhelming support she and Prince William have received from the public and their close circle during this challenging time. She also extended words of encouragement to others facing similar battles.

“Everyone's kindness, empathy, and compassion has been truly humbling. To all those who are continuing their cancer journey, I remain with you, side by side, hand in hand.

“Out of darkness, can come light so let that light shine bright,” Kate said.

Her recent statement follows a period of public speculation about her health, which intensified as she missed several key royal events, including the Earthshot Prize ceremony in Singapore and the BAFTA Awards earlier this year.

Kate’s health concerns began in January when she underwent an undisclosed abdominal surgery. In March, Kate revealed her cancer diagnosis, describing it as a ‘major shock’ following several challenging months, and requested privacy during her treatment.

Her first public appearance after the announcement was on June 16, when she joined the royal family at Buckingham Palace for the Trooping the Colour ceremony. Prior to this, Kate issued a personal statement, cautiously optimistic but noting she was not ‘fully recovered’ and still experiencing ‘good days and bad days’ throughout her treatment. Most recently, in July, she was met with warm applause while attending the men’s singles final at Wimbledon.
