SHAH ALAM - A 17-year-old boy has become a local hero after rescuing two rabbits from a raging fire. The dramatic rescue was captured on TikTok by a netizen identified as Balanagamma.

The incident occurred around 1.20pm as Balanagamma and her husband were heading to work.

Upon noticing the fire near their property, they were horrified to discover their birds and rabbits trapped inside.

While the birds sadly perished, they were determined to save the rabbits.

Balanagamma's husband rushed home to gather tools and engaged the help of his younger cousin, Jason.

In a daring display of bravery, Jason climbed up a concrete wall, balancing on tree branches, to reach the wire rabbit cage.

Despite the flames inching closer, he skillfully cut through the cage, freeing the rabbits.

Balanagamma, who filmed the rescue, offered words of encouragement from below to keep Jason focused.

After a tense 20 minutes, he successfully rescued the two rabbits, reuniting them with their grateful owners.

Jason's heroic act has quickly gone viral, with countless people praised his quick thinking and fearless determination.
