Teen dies of heart complications during football game
Police urged parents to ensure their children undergo regular health checks before participating in any sports activities to prevent similar tragedies.
KAJANG - A 14-year-old boy tragically passed away due to heart complications and asthma while playing football in Semenyih on Saturday.
According to Kajang district police chief Assistant Commissioner Naazron Abdul Yusof, the incident occurred during a match at a local field.
"The police received a report about the incident from a man who is also a football coach at 4.08pm.
"Investigations revealed that during the match, the victim suddenly collapsed before being taken to a nearby clinic.
"The teenager was later transferred to Kajang Hospital and was pronounced dead at 2.02pm on the same day," he said in a statement on Monday.
Naazron added that the post-mortem examination by medical experts confirmed that the victim had heart complications and asthma.
"The case has been classified as a sudden death report (SDR)," he said.
