David Beckham's son Romeo announces retirement from football at 22

SHAH ALAM - Romeo Beckham, son of football legend David Beckham, has officially retired from professional football at the age of 22 to focus on a career in fashion.
After stints with Brentford’s B team and Inter Miami II, Romeo declined a new contract to follow his passion for the fashion industry.
According to UK daily The Sun, Romeo, who gained attention for a Burberry campaign at the age of 10 and was named Britain’s 26th best-dressed man in 2011, recently signed with the prestigious Parisian agency Safe Management.
“Romeo has decided to hang up his football boots and devote his time to his fashion career.
“He has loved his time at Brentford but needs to focus his attention on fashion, which is where his passion lies,” the article read.
Romeo has also signed with a top fashion agent in Paris and is eager to collaborate with major brands.
Dubbed the ‘fashion one’ by his father, Romeo previously secured a £1.2 million deal with Puma in 2021 and has modelled for brands such as Yves Saint Laurent and Burberry.
Despite leaving professional sports, Romeo remains dedicated to supporting the Brentford Penguins, a team for players with Down syndrome, founded by former footballer Allan Cockram.
The team is based at the Gtech Community Stadium in West London, ensuring Romeo maintains his connection to the community.
