SHAH ALAM - SA Archery Club is hosting a historic international archery competition with 1,800 archers, aiming to set a Malaysia Book of Records (MBOR) milestone as the country's largest championship.

Scheduled to take place from Oct 11 to Oct 13 at the Radia Arena Field in Bukit Jelutong, this championship in collaboration with BJ Wolfpack Archery is not just about winning medals; it is about fostering a sense of community and encouraging participation in the sport of archery.

The competition, which has already attracted 1,800 participants and 500 team officials, is expected to draw an audience of over 5,000 spectators.

SA Archery Club representative Hazudin Badaruddin said that the main goal of this competition is to cultivate a love for archery within the community, adopting it as a ‘sunnah’ sport.

“We want to promote awareness and encourage people of all ages and backgrounds to take part in this competition.

“Plus, the championship is set to earn the title for the most archers participating in a single event in Malaysia and it will be certified by the MBOR,” he said.

Adding to the grandeur of the occasion, the event would be officially inaugurated by His Royal Highness the Crown Prince of Selangor Tengku Amir Shah Ibni Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah AlHaj.

The club was also open to finding sponsors to ensure the success of the event. For more information, interested parties can contact Saliza Khalid at 0166267913 or Mohd Redzuan at 0196137194.
