Modenas unveils new brand identity
The brand retains the familiar blue and white hues but introduces a sleek grey and platinum variant.
Modenas, a subsidiary of DRB-Hicom Berhad, has taken a significant step forward in its journey by unveiling a new logo and brand identity. This rebranding effort marks a pivotal moment for the national motorcycle company, as it aligns itself with the rapidly evolving global mobility landscape.
The new logo, inspired by the iconic ‘M’ symbol of Modenas, retains the familiar blue and white hues but introduces a sleek grey and platinum variant. The design, encased in a modern circle, represents the brand's precision and forward-thinking vision.
A new element, dubbed the ‘Road Star’ has also been incorporated into the logo, reflecting Modenas' renewed focus on leadership and adaptability in the industry.
CEO of Modenas Roslan Roskan said that the company represents a Malaysian-built legacy.
"We have established a strong foundation in Malaysia, but our ambitions extend far beyond. The mobility industry is rapidly evolving, driven by the urgent need for energy transition and growing concerns for environmental sustainability.
“With this, our renewed vision will see us bringing excitement that connects people and communities, by providing value, technology and sustainable products globally,” he said during the launch event at Jio Space, Petaling Jaya.
The rebranding was officially launched by Group Chairman of Modenas and Group Managing Director of DRB-Hicom Berhad, Tan Sri Syed Faisal Albar.
The event also saw the attendance of prominent figures such as International Trade and Industry Ministry (MITI) Senior Director of Industry and Development, Malaysia Automotive CEO Faizal Mohd Yusof, Robotics and IoT Institute (MARii) CEO Azrul Reza Aziz and other key stakeholders.
As part of its commitment to sustainability, Modenas introduced an upgraded version of its popular KRISS 110 motorcycle, now meeting the stringent Euro 4 emissions standards. This eco-friendly model not only highlights Modenas' dedication to environmental stewardship but also highlights its alignment with global regulatory demands.
The company has made it clear that this is just the beginning of its initiative to roll out more environmentally friendly motorcycles in the future.
Modenas' global ambitions are further emphasised by its strategic partnerships with international manufacturers such as Kawasaki Motors Ltd, Kwang Yang Motor Co, Ltd (Kymco) of Taiwan and Bajaj Auto Limited of India.
These collaborations have enabled Modenas to extend its reach into international markets, including Greece, South America, Russia, Thailand and more recently, China, where it launched the locally assembled Kawasaki ZX-6R in this year.
In line with its commitment to a cleaner future, Modenas has also been supplying electric motorcycles to Pos Malaysia since 2023, supporting the national courier's net zero mission. This move is part of the company’s broader strategy to embrace sustainable practices while expanding its global footprint.
"Looking ahead, we remain committed to our roots while embracing the future with open arms. This new direction reshapes our culture and operations, emphasising inclusivity and sustainability, and global collaboration.
“We will continue to advance, building on our legacy and shaping the future of motorcycles,” Roslan added.
As Modenas continues its journey, it remains proudly Malaysian at its core, yet boldly global in its outlook, ready to break boundaries and set new benchmarks in the industry.
