KUALA LUMPUR - Umno President Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi engaged delegates at the 2024 Umno General Assembly with a focus on party unity and a touch of Tamil and Mandarin, much to the audience’s delight.

In his winding-up speech, a pre-recorded AI-generated video was shown where Zahid delivered multilingual lines.

Zahid also commended the Umno General Assembly which saw Youth, Wanita Umno and Puteri Umno speeches and motions, which he described as extraordinary.

"I have listened to all the speeches and proposals presented during the assembly, particularly from the Wanita Umno, Youth and Puteri. I must praise them, they are incredible.

"Alhamdulillah, we secured a victory in Nenggiri this election, and I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone involved. These individuals are outstanding," he said at the World Trade Centre Kuala Lumpur (WTC) on Saturday.

Zahid also said that the same format would be used next year, while encouraging members to embrace the shift he outlined in his policy speech the day before.

He urged all Umno members to continue making these shifts, always pushing for change and progress.

He stressed the importance of a social shift to create a more inclusive Malaysian society, embracing diversity in religion, race, and culture.

This social shift, Zahid added, was a reflection of a transition in values, aimed at achieving the aspirations of social justice.

He highlighted that Umno must continue evolving and making progress to stay relevant in the face of these changing dynamics.
