KUALA LUMPUR - Umno's Vice President Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail took a swipe at Pas and pointed out that Umno members have never resorted to parading on the streets waving DAP flags.

He said that Umno must take responsibility for clarifying the confusion among Malay Muslims that the party and religion are two distinct matters.

“Imagine that our political opponents, who share our race and religion, are willing to label Umno as secular and deviant, recite the qunut nazilah prayer to invoke our downfall, and even at times, recite the funeral prayer for Umno, as if to suggest that Umno is already dead.

“They are also willing to drag the Royal Institution into the political fray, thereby lowering the status of the Malay Rulers.

“They play on racial sentiments and extreme hate politics,” he said.

The Pahang Menteri Besar also said that Pas constantly harps on about 'UMDAP (Umno-DAP)'.

“But we must remember, Umno members have never rolled on the streets waving DAP flags. Pas can be anything for the sake of politics. "They can even become ‘green turtles’.

“Religion is used merely to incite the people, especially the youth. Insults, vulgarity, slander, and lies are normalised through their campaigns.

“This strategy is corrupting the mindset of the young Malay generation, and this generation will one day inherit this beloved country. "Therefore, it is our responsibility to correct this situation,” he said.
