KUALA LUMPUR – Proposal to raise the age limit for Puteri Umno members from 35 to 40 will be deliberated by the party’s working committee.

Umno president Datuk Seri Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said that the matter of raising the age limit is being listened to and would be considered.

Earlier, Wanita Umno exco Datuk Nurulhidayah Ahmad Zahid, who is also Zahid’s daughter, brought up the proposal during her speech.

To this, Zahid clarified that Nurulhidayah was speaking in her capacity as a representative of Wanita Umno, not merely as his daughter.

“The one who spoke was not the president’s daughter, but Wanita’s representative.

“We are listening to their issues in our best interest and will bring the proposal to the working committee,” he said during his winding-up speech at the Umno General Assembly at World Trade Centre, here.
